There is clearly a buzz on these days about Class 40 and the future of global around-the-world racing. And for good reason. Class 40 is most definitely the right thing at the right time for ocean racing; the boats are fast, fun, dynamic and, relatively speaking, inexpensive. In a world where money is tight and sponsors are seeking the biggest bang for their buck, downsizing seems to be where it’s at and sailors and sponsors alike are looking at Class 40 and the myriad events open to them and paying close attention.
